[Slapt-get-devel] Detecting Downgrades and Removals?

First thanks for the links to the regex problem Jason.

Anyway, if you look at this recent changelog you will notice that Patrick 
has downgraded mdadm from 1.8.1 back to 1.8.0 because 1.8.1 is part of some 
developmental branch.  Without reading the changelog carefully, im sure many 
would have missed this.  Is there some way for slapt-get to notify the user 
that their mirrors show an earlier version and thus perhaps a downgrade was 
issued?  Also what about packages that are removed entirely, for example 
Patrick has confirmed that GNOME will be removed in 10.1. Thanks
