Again, thank you for the quick fix and thanks for looking into SMTP AUTH.
One more quick question, im not sure if you changed the behavior of your
script, but it seems to email me with the subject "ALERT: Upgraded packages
are available for maximus.atozcomp.com" and then the message body states
that there are 0 packages that need to be upgraded as you can see below. If
this *is* the expected behavior and an email is sent every time it's run, I
think the subject should be changed since its misleading, and it would be
nice to have an option to disable this behavior and only have it email me
when there are packages to be downloaded/installed.

This mail was automatically generated by update-notifier.
Update-notifier simulates upgrading of software packages,
newer than the packages that are currently installed on this system.

Update-notifier is set up to alert its administrator
when new packages become available.
Below you will find the result from the simulation,
and an exerpt from the changelog regarding the new package(s).
Be aware that some of the packages listed here may be in your exclude list.
You should consider upgrading the excluded packages manually.
You may want to run "slapt-get --clean" after upgrading the packages
to free up some space. There are currently 0 of cached data.

Output from the simulation:

Reading Package Lists... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Done
