I just had a situation where I couldn't log back into X. I kept being

told, "Could not start d-bus. Check you installation". As it turns out,

I somehow (unknowingly and unintentionally) managed to downgrade from

the proper qt-r887099-i486-1, back to qt-3.3.8b-i486-2. Only when I

uninstalled the incorrect version, was the problem fixed. But in fact,

it's only temporary. Since I can't tell the system not to (re)install

the old version, any time an old KDE3 package needs to be upgraded, it

will reinstall the old qt as well. Remember, I had already excluded it.

So that obviously didn't work.<br>

I'm just guessing that anyone else besides me who attempts to manage

all of the their packages, including KDE4 which is in testing, is going

to have this same problem. There absolutely needs to be a permanent fix

for this. No, I haven't gotten the cvs version of slapt-get yet. Maybe

it will fix this. But the fact is, I'm the only one who likely knows

about this (cvs upgrade with the repository prioritization which you

think will fix it). And you never actually said where I should download

the cvs copy from. Just looked on your site, and found no hint there.<br>
