Pat recently modified the script he uses to generate the PACKAGES.TXT file to use du -s for the
package file size rather than the previous gunzip -l as he is looking to support other
compression formats.

The problem is this estimates disk usage based on used blocks rather than a byte count like du -b.

I have reported this to Pat but I am unsure if and when he will rectify this.  In the meantime
you can use svn trunk available here: http://software.jaos.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/slapt-get/trunk/

I plan to put out a new release soon with this and the other changes since the last release.
