The crash occurs when trying to modify the Sources
URLs (in menu Settings under Preferences under tab
Sources) when entering the URLs
ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-10.1
and http://software.jaos.org/slackpacks/10.1 the
program crashes with an error message which varies
each time the crash occurs. The error messages include

*** glibc detected *** malloc(): memory corruption:
0x0814a2e0 ***
Aborted

sometimes the dialog will take the new URL, but only
print a random letter, space, or mangled
interpritation of the URL in the URL box while
printing the following error message to the console
(program does not crash)

(gslapt:3546): Pango-WARNING **: Invalid UTF-8 string
passed to pango_layout_set_text()

if you enter the URL again, the program crashes with
the same error message listed above

*** glibc detected *** malloc(): memory corruption:
0x08148690 ***
Aborted

When attempting to update with the false postitve URL
acceptance, the program prints the following error
messages to the console

gslapt:3676): Pango-WARNING **: Invalid UTF-8 string
passed to pango_layout_set_text()
Failed to download: Unsupported protocol: Èhttp

(gslapt:3676): Pango-WARNING **: Invalid UTF-8 string
passed to pango_layout_set_text()
Failed to download: Unsupported protocol: Lºx at Lºx@¸ftp

now as i'm writing this, the program will not even
start, window flashes on the screen and then the
following error is printed to the console

*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid next size
(normal): 0x081040f0 ***
Aborted

I am running Slackware 10.1, window manager is KDE
3.3.2, system type is AMD Athlon XP i686 Glib version
2.0, pango version 1.8.0, GTK+ version 2.2 (will
provide additional info upon request)
